The Pepperl + Fuchs NRB4-12GS40-E2-IO-V1 is engineered for accurate, non-contact detection of metallic objects using a 4 mm nominal sensing distance in a compact M12 threaded cylindrical housing. Its flush mounting capability allows installation in confined spaces while maintaining consistent detection performance. The integrated IO-Link interface (COM2, 38.4 kBit/s) enables parameterisation, diagnostics and real-time process data exchange directly with PLCs and automation controllers. Users can configure switch point mode or window mode, adjust switching behaviour, enable pulse extension and activate stability alarms to suit complex automation requirements.
Built for industrial reliability, the sensor features a durable stainless-steel housing, IP67 ingress protection, reverse polarity protection and pulsed short-circuit protection. It is resistant to constant and alternating magnetic fields up to 200 mT, making it suitable for applications near motors and welding equipment.
